Boston has more snow than it knows what to do with, but jumping out of windows into snowbanks is still a "foolish" idea, says Mayor Martin Walsh. "I'm asking people to stop their nonsense right now. These are adults jumping out windows," the mayor said after videos of daredevils leaping into snow piles surfaced on social media, reports the Boston Herald. "It's a foolish thing to do and you could kill yourself," he said, calling for Bostonians to use common sense.
"We're asking people to act responsibly in the city of Boston," Walsh told reporters. "This isn't Loon Mountain, this is the city of Boston, where we're trying to remove snow off of the street and it becomes very dangerous. And the last thing we want to do is respond to an emergency call where somebody jumped out of the window because they thought it was a funny thing to do." This February has been the snowiest month in the city's history, and yet more snowfall forecast for the weekend is expected to make this Boston's snowiest-ever winter, the Boston Globe reports.
