Germanwings Flight Evacuated After Bomb Scare

A Germanwings plane headed for Milan was evacuated at Cologne Bonn Airport after a bomb threat against the flight was received, the airline says. The threat against Flight 826 was received by email 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time Sunday evening. The tower in Cologne alerted the pilot of the Airbus A320, which was taxiing toward the runway at the time, Germanwings says. The pilot took the plane back to the airport, where the passengers and crew left the aircraft. Federal police says sniffer dogs found no sign of explosives. Germanwings said a different aircraft would be used to fly the 126 passengers to Milan, reports Reuters, which notes that the airline has been in the spotlight since the March 24 crash that was allegedly caused by co-pilot Andreas Lubitz.
