The Islanders were unable to complete a home-and-home sweep of the Rangers tonight, losing to their NY rival, 4-1.  The Rangers, despite losing in a shootout to the Isles Tuesday night, are 8-0-3 in their last 11 games and now find themselves in sixth place, a mere four points out of first in the Eastern Conference. In other NHL action:

  • Toronto continues to surprise with their late season surge, dominating the Bruins 8-2 tonight. This marks the Leafs seventh win in 10 games, as they continue to fight for what was once a very unlikely playoff bid.
  • A late goal from Jeff Carter, his second of the game, gave Philly the edge they needed over the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-2.
