In another country, they might have become celebrities: A Chinese couple who appeared in a sex video that went viral have been arrested, along with at least three other people, according to state media. The footage was apparently filmed in a changing room of the Beijing flagship store of clothing chain Uniqlo. Police say they're investigating whether it was a publicity stunt, and authorities warn that earning a profit from making obscene products carries a sentence of up to life in prison, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The couple were arrested just hours after the clip spread last week, according to state media, and at least one of the other three suspects has been charged with disseminating obscene material, per the Times. Police say the couple have admitted sending the sex video to a friend in April, the AP reports. It was seen by millions of people after it appeared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, causing authorities to denounce it as against "socialist core values." CNN reports that the video has also caused many people to flock to the Beijing store to take selfies—and search for the changing room. (More China stories.)
