122 Cats Saved From 'Filthy, Flea-Infested' Home

More than 120 cats and kittens were rescued from the "filthy, flea-infested conditions" of a Pennsylvania house and should be ready for adoption soon, according to animal control officials. Apparently the owners of the 122 cats planned on opening a cat sanctuary but were unable to keep up with the cats' reproduction rate, leading to someone tipping off the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The organization's CEO said it was admirable that the homeowners, who voluntarily surrendered the cats, wanted to rescue homeless animals, but they were clearly overwhelmed. (More cats stories.)
