A Florida woman is accused of making up a lie about being kidnapped so she wouldn't have to return to her job as a night shift nursing assistant. The Panama City Police Department says its officers and other agencies spent several hours Monday morning looking for Beverly F. Brooks, 43, after a concerned co-worker noticed Brooks didn't return from a break and called to see if she needed a ride back to work. Brooks told her she was being held against her will by her boyfriend. Police found and arrested Brooks, who told them she'd made up the story because she didn't want to go back to work.
