Police Question Girls Named 'Destiny' in Bid to Solve Case

In May, Idaho police discovered the message "Destiny, Prom?" painted in large pink and blue letters on the side of the Black Cliffs, a popular rock-climbing spot, east of Boise. The invitation has been painted over, but the Romeo behind it has thus far eluded police. And so they took a unique tactic in a bid to close the case: Sheriff's deputies started interviewing girls named "Destiny."

It hasn't led anywhere yet, says Ada County Sheriff's Office spokesman Patrick Orr. "Our deputies interviewed over a dozen girls named 'Destiny' and checked out other leads but weren't able to track it down," he tells KBOI. Police are hopeful that the dawn of a new school year will generate some fresh leads. Should they find their man, he could face a misdemeanor charge of injury by graffiti, which is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of $1,000. (More weird crimes stories.)
