Richard Glossip will live to see 2016. The Oklahoma murderer was supposed to be the next prisoner put to death this year in the state, but an investigation into drug confusion means no executions will take place there through the rest of this year, reports the Tulsa World. Glossip had received a stay earlier this month when corrections officials realized they had received an incorrect drug as part of their lethal injection cocktail.

Further investigation revealed that another prisoner had, in fact, received that incorrect drug when he was executed. On Friday, the state Attorney General's Office filed a court document stipulating that it won't seek another execution until 150 days after an investigation is finished and the results are made public, notes the AP. That effectively pushes the next one into 2016. (More Oklahoma stories.)
