Coming to Netflix: Latino One Day at a Time Remake

The iconic sitcom One Day at a Time is getting a reboot. Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of a remake of the Norman Lear series, this time starring around a Cuban-American family, Deadline reports. The multi-camera show will focus on an ex-military, recently separated mom raising a teen daughter and tween son with the help of her mom—and, yes, a building manager named Schneider.

Sources say Rita Moreno, who possesses an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy, will play the "old school" Cuban-born grandma. The original series, which ran from 1975 to 1984, starred Bonnie Franklin as a divorced mom raising two daughters, played by Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips.
