"Would you [put a serious offer on] me? I'd [put a serious offer on] me. I'd [put a serious offer on] me hard. I'd [put a serious offer on] me so hard." Despite the fact that it has a place in cinema history as the site of the final showdown between FBI agent Clarice Starling and killer Buffalo Bill in the Oscar-winning Silence of the Lambs, a Pennsylvania couple is having a hard time selling their home, Consumerist reports. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Scott and Barbara Lloyd put their home on the market in August for $300,000 and have since dropped the price to $250,000. But, though the home was the second-most-viewed property on Realtor.com in 2015, they haven't had any takers. “Just because I want to gawk at something doesn't mean I want to buy it," one expert explains.

Consumerist reports part of the problem may be that only the house's kitchen and entryway feature in the movie; the memorable basement scenes were filmed elsewhere: "Which is a way of saying that this house does not contain a sub-basement starvation pit where a buyer could prep a victim before her eventual flaying." The fact that it's located in Layton, a town of fewer than 50 people, probably isn't helping, according to the Tribune-Review. "The isolated location is perhaps the perfect place for a fictional killer to set up shop, but for real (and sane) buyers, the amenities may fall short," the New York Times states. The Lloyds' asking price is also $100,000 over the median listing price in Pennsylvania. Regardless, the couple is optimistic they'll soon be able to toast a sale with a nice chianti.
