Job hunters, take notice: Glassdoor has crunched the numbers, and it lists the 25 best US jobs for this year. The rankings are based on a score that looks at salary, number of job openings, and career opportunities. The top 5:

  1. Data scientist: There are 1,736 job openings for this tech position, which involves working with and analyzing data via "database management, statistics, and machine learning" as well as "distributed and parallel systems," per Fast Company. The median base salary is $116,840.
  2. Tax manager: There are 1,574 job openings, and experts tell Fast Company the need won't necessarily drop off much after tax season, because companies are paying more attention to their finances and tax responsibilities year-round. The median base salary is $108,000.

  1. Solutions architect: There are 2,906 job openings and the median base salary is $119,500. What does a solutions architect do, exactly? WPTV describes the job as "an IT position tasked with designing solutions to unique problems."
  2. Engagement manager: There are 1,356 job openings, and the median base salary is $125,000. "An engagement manager is the main point of contact for clients or vendors, managing this relationship for the business," an expert tells Fast Company, explaining that engagement managers deal with finances, resource planning, and project monitoring.
  3. Mobile developer: There are 2,251 job openings for what is, finally, a self-explanatory position. The median base salary is $90,000.
