Some $130 million later, Jeb Bush is out of the running for president, but at least he had fun. He should have, anyway, according to campaign finances cited by the New York Times. In between dinners at the Yale Club and Nantucket's Westmoor Club, Bush and his aides stayed at luxurious hotels on the Las Vegas Strip and bit into thousands of dollars' worth of pizza, funded by the Bush campaign and the super PAC Right to Rise. The Times breaks down some numbers:

  • $3.3 million on airfare
  • $84 million on advertising, per the Times, though the Washington Post reports more than $100 million went toward TV airtime
  • $48,544 on Vegas hotels, including the Bellagio, the Wynn, and the Venetian
  • $10 million on consultants
  • $4,837 on pizza
  • $88,387 on branding, including this exclamation point
  • $15,800 on valets
  • $8.3 million on campaign staff
  • $94,100 on dinner and event tabs
Politico has Bush's tab at a higher $150 million, while the Post reports the total cost of the 2016 campaign for all candidates could top $4 billion. (Here's what pundits say doomed Bush.)
