(Shutterstock) The case of the missing house keys and a driver who really had to go are among the weirdest crime stories of the week: Man Ticketed After Posting Facebook Video: One could argue that Michael Dalton was just trying to help fellow commuters out—and one could also argue he broke the law in doing so. Police made the latter argument and ticketed the Colorado man after he posted a video on Facebook showing a shortcut in his neighborhood that avoids a nearby highway. But it also showed him doing two problematic things. Cops Say They've Never Seen a Getaway Like This: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police encountered what they say was a first for them in British Columbia: a suspected thief trying to escape on an ice floe. Cops say 25-year-old Philicity Lafrenier drove a stolen pickup truck to the Nechako River and jumped onto the floe after a homeowner interrupted her mid-burglary. Then she started a fire on the floe, possibly for nefarious reasons. Florida Man Tells Cops He Has to Pee, Proves It: Lake County Sheriff's officials say 24-year-old Carlos Adonis Ramos-Erazo refused to get out of his vehicle when he was nabbed for going 75mph in a 55mph zone, and he said it was because he had to go to the bathroom. Authorities say he drove off and a deputy followed him to his home, where he was shot with a Taser and placed in a patrol car. The cop then found out the hard way he hadn't been bluffing after all. Police on the Lookout for ... Young Men Picking Rap Battles?: Apparently, yes, in Massachusetts. The Charlton Police Department issued a warning about a roaming group of young people picking rap battles with unsuspecting citizens after an SUV with two or three young men inside stopped next to a group of young teens. One of the men reportedly jumped out and started rapping, while another asked the teens if they wanted to "spit some bars." Find out why cops are so concerned about these "suspicious" and "frightening" allegations. Man Loses House Keys, Ends Up in Jail: In what may be this week's best argument for keeping a spare key under a fake rock, police say 35-year-old Jeffrey Jones locked himself out of his central Pennsylvania house and climbed onto his roof to try to get in through a window. He had to call 911 when he got stuck, though—and ended up locked up in jail. Here's why. Click to read about more crazy crimes. (More weird crimes stories.) Report an error
