A Pittsburgh-area luxury car dealership learned the hard way that you should always send an employee along on test drives. The general manager of Midnight Racing Auto tells CBS Pittsburgh that a man arrived at the dealership in his Lexus on Saturday morning and asked to test-drive a $14,900 Mercedes. She took the keys to his car as collateral and made a copy of his driver's license, then suggested a route for him to take on his drive and asked him to be back in no more than 15 minutes. When he hadn't returned an hour later, she called police.

Police confirmed the Lexus the man used as collateral had been stolen from another Pennsylvania dealership. The manager says her dealership's policy on test drives will be changing, although sending employees along on test drives can also end poorly. (More weird crimes stories.)
