The Nashville Predators broke a six-game home losing streak today with a 2-1 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks, reports the Associated Press. Rich Peverley and Alexander Radulov both scored on goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, as the Predators improved to 3-5 in shootouts. Dan Ellis stopped 2 of 3 attempts in the shootout and had 37 saves for Nashville, which moved within 2 points of Colorado for the West's final playoff spot.
Arnott scored the first goal for the Predators after Khabibulin blocked a Shea Weber shot. Nashville, which snapped a four-game losing streak to Chicago, improved to 30-5-4 when scoring the first goal. Andrew Ladd tied it later in the period for the Blackhawks. Chicago outshot Nashville 16-10 in the third period and forced Ellis to stop seven shots in overtime. (More NHL stories.)
