Wild Ride: 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week

Stories about a car passenger where no passenger should be and a new worry for visitors to red-light districts made the crime blotter this week:

• Cops: Guy Drives 6 Miles With Wife on Roof: A cop in Stuart, Florida, was pulling up to an intersection after midnight when he saw an SUV drive by—with a woman on the roof. She was "yelling for help and waving her hands at me," he says. All ended safely after 6 miles, but the incident involves alcohol, a husband-and-wife spat at a bar, and a weird excuse involving the lack of a phone.

• Teens Steal 'UFO' in Roswell: A UFO of sorts was found in pieces two miles outside Roswell, New Mexico—after some teens swiped the decoration from behind a local museum. One 17-year-old has been arrested, and there's surveillance video that makes one thing clear: If this is anything like a real UFO, they're pretty darn light.
• Private Drone Results in Prostitution Arrests: A camera-equipped drone apparently caught a prostitute and her john having sex in his truck. A self-proclaimed "video vigilante" set loose his drone after seeing the man pick up the alleged prostitute. An Oklahoma City cop who saw the footage said it revealed, er, probable cause.
• Guy Uses Stolen Car to Steal a Car: A man arrived at Pittsburgh-area car dealership in a Lexus and took a Mercedes out on a test-drive. Everything was going great until he failed to return from the solo drive, and the dealership realized it had been duped. Turns out, the Lexus he left behind had been stolen, too. The dealership now has a change of policy in mind.
• Dog Brings Home a Big Bag of Pot: A dog in Jones County, Miss., went out for a stroll and brought home its owner a present. Not a bone or a ball—a bag with about a pound of pot. No word yet on where the weed came from, but police are investigating.
