Drew Peterson Convicted of Hiring Hit Man to Kill Prosecutor

Drew Peterson was found guilty Tuesday of hiring a hit man to kill the prosecutor who put him away for murder four years ago, the Chicago Tribune reports. The former police officer faces an additional 60 years in prison on top of the 38 he's currently serving for the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. According to the AP, state's attorney James Glasgow reopened the Savio case—originally ruled an accidental death—after the 2007 disappearance of Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson. Peterson allegedly believed that with Glasgow alive, he would have a worse shot at appeal and may eventually be charged with Stacy's murder, as well. He conspired with an inmate to have Glasgow killed, but the inmate was wearing a wire and cooperating with authorities. On his way out of the courtroom Tuesday, Peterson was seen muttering something to Stacy's sister. (More Drew Peterson stories.)
