"At the scene where (Micah Johnson) was killed, he wrote some lettering in blood on the wall," Dallas Police Chief David Brown tells CNN in an interview Sunday. "Which leads us to believe that he was wounded on the way up." Brown says that Johnson scrawled the letters "RB" in his own blood, and that investigators are trying to decipher the significance of that. Other highlights from Brown's wide-ranging interview, via Politico, the Hill, and the AP:
- On the five-hour standoff with Johnson: "He just basically lied to us, playing games, laughing at us, singing, asking how many did he get and that he wanted to kill some more and that there were bombs there so there was no progress on the negotiation. And I began to feel that it was only at a split second he would charge us and take out many more before we would kill him."
