Six of the top 10 small US cities for families, with populations under 100,000, are in the Lone Star State, according to a NerdWallet ranking. It looks at factors like affordability, income, crime, and the quality of education. The top six:

  1. Wylie, Texas
  2. Spring Hill, Tenn.
  3. Leander, Texas
  4. Bentonville, Ark.
  5. Carmel, Ind.
  6. Pearland, Texas
