Miley Cyrus never wants to be accused of "doing it," by which she means not what you think, but rather being a suck-up or otherwise pretentious person, she tells Amanda FitzSimons during a two-day dish session for Elle magazine. The new judge for The Voice, which starts its new season next Monday, has embarked on a get-real campaign as of late—offering up "pure, unfiltered Miley," per Elle—ditching her publicist a year ago and interacting directly with fans on Instagram.

A snippet of the Elle chat is available, and the 23-year-old pop star offers a few revelations, including:

  • A declaration that we'll never see her on the red carpet again. "Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that's red?" she notes. "Because I'm 'important'? Because I'm 'famous'? That's not how I roll."
  • An admission that she doesn't use Snapchat—"I'll be an old lady that's too held back"—or play Pokemon Go, though fiance Liam Hemsworth is known for heading to the car wash to catch some virtual creatures.
