'We Will Not Let You Sleep' Posted Just Before OSU Attack

The suspect shot dead at Ohio State University Monday is believed to have posted an anti-America rant on Facebook just minutes before attacking fellow students with a car and a knife. "I can't take it anymore. America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially the Muslim Ummah [community]," reads the post that appeared on Abdul Razak Ali Artan's page three minutes before the rampage, ABC News reports. "We are not weak. We are not weak, remember that." The post also described radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki as a "hero," reports NBC News.

"If you want us to stop carrying lone wolf attacks, then make peace," the post says. "We will not let you sleep unless you give peace to the Muslims." Police haven't commented publicly on a motive for the attack, which injured 11 people. CNN reports that Artan, an 18-year-old Somali refugee who left his homeland for Pakistan in 2007 and came to the US in 2014, was profiled in the university newspaper's "Humans of Ohio State" feature in August. He told the Lantern that he had just transferred from Columbus State and didn't know where to pray yet. "I wanted to pray in the open, but I was scared with everything going on in the media," he said. "I'm a Muslim, it's not what the media portrays me to be." (More Abdul Razak Ali Artan stories.)
