The Guardian reports on the newest feud between "two of Britain’s best known international exports:" It all started when JK Rowling tweeted early Saturday regarding Piers Morgan's appearance on Bill Maher's talk show, noting that watching Morgan being "told to f--- off on live TV" had been incredibly fulfilling for her. Morgan struck back at the Harry Potter author, noting her "superior, dismissive arrogance," and there was further back-and-forth on Morgan being a "celebrity toady," a diss on the Potter franchise, and Rowling accusing Morgan of "sucking up to the biggest bully": President Trump.
But it was a Valentine's Day tweet four days into the spat that gave Rowling somewhat of an edge. The author put up a complimentary blurb someone had written about her, accompanied by her own request: "Could the writer let me know who he is? I'd love to thank him!" Morgan was quick to reply, calling Rowling's post "priceless #humblebrag BS." Which those witnessing the fight noted with glee, per the Guardian, as the sweet words about Rowling had been written by Morgan himself as part of his 2010 "100 British celebrities who really matter" list. Morgan claims he knew they were his own words, but he had more pressing issues: specifically, his son Spencer more or less siding with Rowling, per Mashable. (Rowling has also gone "biblical" on Mike Pence.)
