Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial opened Monday with testimony from one of the scores of women who accuse the star of drugging and sexually assaulting them. The woman, identified in earlier reports as "Kacey," testified that when she worked at the William Morris talent agency in Los Angeles in the 1990s, Cosby befriended her in a fatherly, "Dr. Huxtable" kind of way before sexually assaulting her in 1996, Variety reports. She said that after asking her to meet for lunch at a hotel to discuss her career, he brought her to his bungalow and insisted she take a pill he said would "relax" her. She testified that she felt "underwater" and awoke to find herself on the bed with her dress pulled up. "He made me touch his penis," she said.

Kacey testified that she was too afraid to go to police when it was only her word against that of the "biggest celebrity in the world at that time," the Guardian reports. Cosby is on trial for what prosecutors say was a very similar assault on Andrea Constand in 2004, and Kacey is the only other accuser who will be allowed to testify, CNN reports. Prosecutors say the testimony shows there was a pattern to the assaults. Cosby's defense team attacked his accusers' credibility, with attorney Brian McMonagle accusing Kacey of having developed "selective amnesia." Cosby, who arrived at the Norristown, Pa., courthouse with Cosby Show daughter Keshia Knight Pulliam, is not expected to testify during the two-week trial. (Read more Bill Cosby stories.)
