President Trump scored a victory Tuesday when a motion to proceed on the healthcare debate passed the Senate 51-50, but that doesn't mean he's willing to overlook the two votes from Republicans in opposition. In a tweet Wednesday, Trump singled out Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska—who cast an opposing vote alongside Sen. Susan Collins of Maine—claiming she "really let the Republicans, and our country, down yesterday. Too bad!" Asked about the 51-50 vote on Tuesday, Trump said Murkowski and Collins' votes were "very sad—for them," reports the Week.
Murkowski's vote "raised eyebrows among some Republicans" because she voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2015, per Politico. But while Murkowski says she believes the Affordable Care Act needs revising, she wanted "to give the Senate another chance to take this to the committee process. I still believe that's the best route." Murkowski—who was also among nine GOP senators to reject a motion to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act later Tuesday—tells the Alaska Dispatch News that Sen.
