Cops: Bride Pulls Gun From Dress, Fires at Groom
Kate Prichard   (Murfreesboro Police Department)

"She pulled out of her wedding dress a 9mm pistol, pointed it at her new husband's head, and pulled the trigger." That's how a police officer sums up what could go down in history as the worst bridezilla moment ever. Authorities were called to a motel in Murfreesboro, Tenn., last week after a witness reported an altercation between a groom and his new bride, still in her wedding dress, reports WTVF. The pair had been drinking and arguing, the witness said. But the argument apparently peaked when 25-year-old Kate Prichard pulled a gun from beneath her dress and aimed it at her husband of a few hours, police say.

The gun was unloaded, but Prichard swiftly loaded a round, then fired the 9mm pistol into the air, causing onlookers to flee, police say, per the Smoking Gun. When police arrived, Prichard and 30-year-old James Burton denied that there had been any issue. However, responding officers found a shell casing, as well as a gun hidden in a bathroom, says Sgt. Kyle Evans of the Murfreesboro Police Department. They "let the husband know the honeymoon was over and his new wife was going to jail," he adds. Prichard was led away in handcuffs and charged with aggravated domestic assault. She posted a $15,000 bond and was released. (More weird crimes stories.)
