Steve Bannon appears on 60 Minutes Sunday, and CBS is providing an early look at his interview with Charlie Rose. In two snippets, Bannon criticizes the Catholic Church over its opposition to Trump's DACA decision and makes clear that he intends to support the president from his new post outside the White House:
- Trump: Bannon calls himself a "street fighter" and says it's why he gets along with the like-minded president. He tells Rose that his main role now at Breitbart is to be Trump's "wingman outside for the entire time." He again defends the president's response after Charlottesville in regard to keeping monuments up—"Where does this end? ... Does it end in taking down the Washington Monument?"—and says advisers such as Gary Cohn who broke with the president over the issue should have resigned. See the transcript here.
