Cops: Murder Suspect Jumped in Front of Subway Train
Rondell Veal   (Newark Police Department)

Police looking for a Delaware man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death eventually found him in a New York City hospital, where he was recovering from an apparent suicide attempt. Police say Rondell Veal, 36, slashed his throat and jumped onto the tracks at Grand Central Station early Sunday, but officers were able to grab him before a train arrived, the New York Daily News reports. The Newark, Del., police department says it contacted the NYPD after discovering the body of Sherrie Campbell, 34 , in the home she shared with Veal, the Newark Post reports. Police say he'll be charged with first-degree murder. (More New York City subway stories.)
