He's still a very good dog, but French President Emmanuel Macron's pooch Nemo drew laughs when he relieved himself in the Elysée Palace, interrupting a meeting his master was holding with three aides, the BBC reports. "I wondered what that noise was," chuckles junior ecology minister Brune Poirson. "Does that happen often?" adds aide Julien Denormandie, per the Guardian. A laughing Macron replies, "You have sparked a totally unusual behavior in my dog." In footage captured by TF1, the black Labrador-Griffon mix can be seen tinkling on an ornate fireplace in the gilded presidential home, eliciting surprised titters from the group. The 2-year-old rescue then strolls away, oblivious to the breach in first dog decorum. To make matters slightly worse, Nemo was only steps away from the lush Elysée garden.

Macron and wife Brigitte adopted Nemo from a shelter last summer. On one of his first public outings welcoming the Nigerian president, the Guardian notes Nemo charmed while "standing to attention" on the palace steps alongside Macron's pant leg. And Nemo isn't the first pooch to sully the palace: Nicolas Sarkozy's dogs racked up thousands in damage to historic furniture, per the Guardian. Jacques Chirac had to part with his Maltese, Sumo, after the dog, depressed to leave the palace, turned on him. And Francois Hollande's pooch, Philae, once knocked over a woman in the palace, per Le Parisien. (A peeing pooch ruins dresses at Lane Bryant.)
