Video shown in a Malaysian courtroom Monday makes perhaps the strongest connection yet between North Korea and the assassination of Kim Jong Un's half-brother. The video shows four still at-large male suspects meeting with a North Korean embassy official and a representative from North Korea's state airline shortly after the murder of Kim Jong Nam, reports Reuters. The airline rep helped get them on a flight out of the country. Authorities also for the first time identified the four suspects as North Koreans and identified them by their full names. All are believed to be back in North Korea.
The development came in the trial of two female suspects who were seen on a separate surveillance video smearing a deadly nerve agent on Kim's face in the crowded Kuala Lumpur airport in February, per the AP. The women, Siti Aisyah of Indonesia and Doan Thi Huong of Vietnam, say they thought they were taking part in a TV prank and have pleaded not guilty. The North Korean embassy and airline officials who met with the male suspects suggested that doing so wasn't unusual. A police officer who interviewed them said the pair depicted the move as standard protocol for all North Korean travelers. (More North Korea stories.)
