A nasty coda to the Thailand cave rescue might not be going away anytime soon. A British diver instrumental in the rescue is now threatening to sue Elon Musk after the entrepreneur called him "pedo guy" on Twitter. "Yes, yes, it's not finished," 63-year-old Vern Unsworth told Australia's 9News when asked about taking legal action. "I am not gonna make any further comment about him but I think people realize what sort of a guy he is," said Unsworth, adding to the Guardian that he was "astonished and very angry" at the attack. This all began when Unsworth publicly belittled Musk's idea to send in a mini-submarine during the cave ordeal as a "PR stunt" that would not have worked. He then went further, saying Musk could "stick his submarine where it hurts."
In since-deleted tweets, Musk fired back over the weekend that he would produce a video showing how his submarine would have worked. At one point, referring to Unsworth, he wrote, "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it." Musk then began taking flak for going after one of the kids' rescuers, but he initially doubled down on the insult, writing, "Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true," per CNN. All this comes just after Musk told Bloomberg that he would improve his behavior on Twitter. "I have made the mistaken assumption—and I will attempt to be better at this—of thinking that because somebody is on Twitter and is attacking me that it is open season," he said. "That is my mistake. I will correct it." (More Elon Musk stories.)
