Politics / President Trump NYT Describes Air Force One Commotion Over a TV Channel CNN is not the president's network of choice By Newser Editors, Newser Staff Posted Jul 25, 2018 7:37 AM CDT Copied President Donald Trump waves as he boards Air Force One at Morristown Municipal Airport, in Morristown, N.J., Sunday, July 22, 2018, en route to Washington after staying at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster) President Trump's displeasure with "fake news" CNN is well known, and the New York Times is out with an anecdote to back that up. It viewed an internal email between the White House Military Office and the White House Communications Agency regarding a recent incident on Air Force One in which the president discovered the first lady's television was airing CNN. Trump caused "a bit of a stir," per the email, which then set the protocol for turning all TVs to Fox in the future. The Times, which did not publish the email itself, described Trump as "rag[ing] at his staff." The email also noted that two TVs with streaming capabilities would be purchased to enable the Trumps to watch TV in their individual hotel rooms while on the road.
