The NYPD remains on the lookout for 11 people involved in a Oct. 12 clash between members of the "Proud Boys" far-right group and others now identified as "antifa" members, but has made one arrest. Geoffrey Young was taken into custody at his home in New City, NY, around 7pm Thursday on charges of rioting and attempted assault. The 38-year-old—who appears wearing a MAGA hat in a video produced by Proud Boys Magazine, reports the Daily Beast—was among those authorities needed help identifying from surveillance video, in which he reportedly wore the black and yellow polo shirt of the Proud Boys uniform, per NBC News. The video also showed a melee of punches, kicks, and a thrown bottle.

Three people were arrested after a separate brawl outside the Metropolitan Republican Club on Manhattan's Upper East Side, where Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes spoke Oct. 12. But Young is the first of 12 people suspected of being involved in the East 82nd Street clash to be identified and charged. Another eight are said to be Proud Boys members, per CBS News. Founded by Vice Media co-founder McInnes in 2016, the group considers itself a "pro-Western fraternal organization." However, the Southern Poverty Law Center labels Proud Boys a hate group, noting its leaders "regularly spout white nationalist memes and maintain affiliations with known extremists." (Antifa members have been criticized, too.)
