A 911 call early Sunday morning led police to a horrific find in a Queens apartment building lobby: a pregnant 35-year-old real estate agent who'd been stabbed in the torso and neck, per NBC News. Jennifer Irigoyen was rushed from the Ridgewood complex to a local hospital, but it was too late to save her—she was pronounced dead there. Law enforcement sources tell NBC New York that Irigoyen was 5 months pregnant, and that there had been five calls to police about domestic disputes involving Irigoyen and an ex-boyfriend; the New York Post seems to suggest it was a current boyfriend. Cops say her unborn child also didn't survive the attack, per CBS News.

Police, who say a man sprinted from the scene of the crime, are now seeking the man with ties to Irigoyen for questioning. "You would've fallen in love with her because she's such a sweetheart," her building superintendent tells NBC New York. "She was a ... really, really nice girl." Irigoyen's family, meanwhile, has been devastated by the news. "Words can't explain the ache in my heart," a cousin wrote on Facebook, per the Post. "Today has been a nightmare." Anyone with information on the crime can call 1-800-577-TIPS, or 1-888-57-PISTA (for Spanish speakers). Tips can also be submitted on the Crime Stoppers site, via text—274637 (CRIMES), followed by entering TIP577—or via the NYPD's Twitter tips handle at @NYPDTips. (More murder stories.)
