Oprah Winfrey has donated $2 million to relief efforts in the US territory hit hard by Hurricane Maria in September 2017, reports Entertainment Tonight. "I was so moved by Lin-Manuel Miranda's commitment … that I wanted to join in the revitalization efforts," Winfrey says in a statement, per People. "The needs of Puerto Rico … are still very real" and the work of support groups "is long from over," she adds. Half of her donation will go to Hispanic Federation's UNIDOS Disaster Relief & Recovery Program to Support Puerto Rico, while the other $1 million will go to the Flamboyan Arts Fund.
