Police say it is too early to say whether three shootings tied to a Miami-area hip-hop festival are related. South Florida police agencies are comparing evidence Tuesday to determine whether the shootings have a link beyond the Rolling Loud Festival, which concluded Sunday, the AP reports. A bystander died after being hit Sunday during a shootout between members of rapper NBA YoungBoy's entourage and passengers in an SUV who police said opened fire on them. Police said Monday that the entourage members acted in self-defense in that shooting at the Trump International Beach Resort Miami in Sunny Isles Beach.
Police say 11 men were detained for questioning then released after the shooting near the Trump resort, which also injured a 5-year-old boy and Kaylyn Marie Long, a 19-year-old believed to be Youngboy's girlfriend. In another shooting, Chicago-based rapper AAB Hellabandz died early Saturday after being shot in Miami Beach. Another man was injured in the shooting, and two police officers were injured when their vehicles collided while pursuing a vehicle thought to have been involved. On Friday, shots were fired at a performer's party buses. One woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound and two other people were injured by broken glass, the Miami Herald reports.
