DC Comics Doesn't Buy Wonder Woman Cover

"It's Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the 'Freshmen Force' (of Congress) vs. the establishment in this all-new special!" So read the promotional copy from Devil's Due about its new comic. So now it's DC Comic lawyers vs. Devil's Due lawyers. The comic was produced with alternate covers, including one showing Ocasio-Cortez looking a lot like Wonder Woman, but with an "A" instead of a "W" on her costume. DC then sent a cease-and-desist letter to Devil's Due, per Bleeding Cool.

The cover had already been printed, Comic Book reports, though only 250 copies. Although they're not widely available, a few have slipped through, which means the price is going up. The asking price had reached $70 on eBay, but many copies had been pulled from the site. DC Comics has taken no stand on whether the new member of Congress from New York is a superhero. It does say the powers of its Wonder Woman include invulnerability and super strength, but that doesn't mean she has it easy.
