The ball was in Johnny Depp's court, and he just hurled it. Following a $50 million defamation lawsuit the 55-year-old actor filed earlier this year against ex-wife Amber Heard, the 33-year-old actress offered her rebuke in the form of an April motion outlining what she says was a litany of abusive incidents at the hands of Depp. Now, new court filings from Depp, in which he calls Heard the actual "perpetrator" and himself the "victim," detailing multiple incidents that he claims show Heard was the abusive one, per USA Today and the Guardian. "I never abused Ms. Heard or any other woman," Depp says in the filing, which his lawyer says is "packed with new evidence." Depp claims that Heard would get hopped up on a cocktail of booze, OTC meds, and prescription amphetamines, which is when she would become abusive and violent toward him.
Among the accusations Depp is lobbing at Heard: that she threw a broken glass bottle at him and severed his fingertip; often threw TV remote controls, burning candles, soda cans, and paint thinner cans at him; and even defecated in his bed as a "sick prank." He submitted pics with his filing showing his "black and puffy eyes and scratches," per USA Today; the Blast has the photos. Depp also claims Heard once came to a courthouse to get a temporary restraining order against him sporting "painted-on bruises." The Guardian notes that Depp's latest allegations were prompted by Heard asking a Virginia judge to dismiss his lawsuit. In a statement to People, Heard's attorney offered a firm reply to Depp: "The evidence in this case is clear: Johnny Depp repeatedly beat Amber Heard," calling Depp's latest allegations "increasingly desperate attempts ... to revive his career" with "baseless litigation."
