An E. coli outbreak that has sickened 17 people in eight states has a product sold at Aldi now on recall notice. USA Today reports on the CDC's Friday recall announcement, which notes the illnesses tied to Baker's Corner All Purpose Flour took place between Dec. 11 and April 18. Three people have been hospitalized, but there have been no fatalities. In a statement, Aldi says the 5-pound bags of flour were sourced from ADM Milling, located in Buffalo, NY.
The recall is taking place in the following 11 states, per the Food and Drug Administration: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia. Affected flour bags would have the UPC code 041498130404; customers can return the bags to Aldi to get their money back. (More recall stories.)
