Exactly what the world—or at least the world of ice cream fans—did not want: a copycat licker. This time, the case is out of Louisiana, where police say 36-year-old Lenise Martin was filmed licking Blue Bell ice cream at a store in Belle Rose, then returning the container to the freezer, reports KTBS. (See it here.) The crucial difference: Martin produced a receipt and convinced police that he actually bought the container he was seen licking and returning to the shelf. He apparently made the video only as a goof. However, he's still facing legal trouble.

Martin was arrested and charged with unlawful posting of criminal activity for notoriety and publicity, and tampering with property. “We discourage anyone from copying this atrocious act,” says a spokesman for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, per WAFB. “It is illegal. It’s a health risk to others. We will pursue anyone we see do this. You will be charged.” (The alleged original ice cream licker faces more serious legal consequences after her arrest in Texas.)
