"Narrow escape of an aircraft which could have ended in a great disaster. Miraculous save by the pilot's presence of mind." Any pilot would be pleased to receive such kudos from a high-up politician. But Vice reports there was one problem when Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, secretary-general of Pakistan's Awami Tehreek party, tweeted out such compliments on July 5, along with a video showing the aforementioned aircraft barely escaping a crash with an oil tanker in its way on the runway: The clip was a simulation from the video game GTA 5, a fact that amused commenters were all too eager to point out.

"Hello, this is a simulation video. Such things aren't possible in real life situations ... you should learn about lift," one person responded to Gandapur online. Newsweek details the origin of the nearly three-minute video, which shows the Airbus A380 just barely lifting up over the oil tanker, at some points in slow motion. The clip, uploaded June 20, was created by UiGamer, who's known for posting video proof of some of his more impressive gameplay. The video had 2.8 million views as of Friday, and more than 4,200 likes. Gandapur has since deleted his tweet. (Read about another politician's goof.)
