Financier Jeffrey Epstein is on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Correction Center in New York City after being found injured in his cell, according to multiple reports. Sources tell the New York Daily News that the billionaire was found semiconscious on the floor of his cell with marks on his neck, but authorities aren't sure how he got them. NBC New York reports that two of its sources say Epstein, who was denied bail last week on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy involving dozens of girls, tried to hang himself.

A third source, however, suspects Epstein may have injured himself to try to get a transfer, and a fourth claims he was assaulted by fellow inmate Nicholas Tartaglione, an ex-cop accused of killing four people while engaged in a cocaine-trafficking conspiracy. Epstein, 66, faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted. (More Jeffrey Epstein stories.)
