Stock indexes rose Friday following strong profit reports from Google's parent company, Twitter, and other big corporations, per the AP. A government report also showed that US economic growth slowed in the spring, down to an annual pace of 2.1%, but it was still stronger than economists expected. For the day, the S&P 500 rose 22 points to 3,025, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 51 points to 27,192, and the Nasdaq composite rose 91 to 8,330.
