In yet another example of drugs and flying not mixing, a man who told other passengers he had taken cocaine was removed from an American Airlines flight after it made an emergency landing in Denver. Passenger Jim Dickey tells CNN that the man started acting up on the Phoenix to Minneapolis flight about an hour after takeoff Friday, and "the plane started descending pretty quickly after the flight attendants started to notice" what was happening. Dickey says the man started yelling and threatening passengers. "He punched the seat in front of him and the lady screamed," Dickey says. He says other passengers were considering restraining the man.

Passengers tell TMZ that after the pilot announced that the flight was being diverted, the man ran to a bathroom and locked himself in for around 10 minutes, ignoring flight attendants who tried to coax him out. Dickey says the man yelled "You're all screwed," while he was in the bathroom. Passengers say the "very jittery" man emerged a few minutes before landing—and sparked up a joint after the flight landed safely and police officers boarded the plane. He was removed from the plane in handcuffs and the flight departed around two hours later. Police in Denver tell TMZ that the man was hospitalized after they determined that a medical issue was involved. He was not charged over the incident. (Unlike this Alaska Airlines passenger, the man kept his clothes on.)
