Coming up with the cash to pay for a wedding can be a stressful endeavor, and in a case out of Texas, it turned out to be a criminal endeavor for a groom-to-be. ABC News reports that Heath Edward Bumpous was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after a Friday morning bank holdup in Groveton. Police say Bumpous approached a teller at a Citizens State Bank, told them he was armed, and demanded cash. "He basically stated that he was getting married tomorrow [and] didn't have enough money for a wedding ring that he wanted to buy and he needed to pay for the wedding venue," Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace says. The sheriff posted pictures on Facebook of the robbery suspect taken from surveillance video in the hopes of catching him quickly.

No one was more surprised to see those photos than Bumpous' own fiancee, apparently taking a social media break while prepping for her big day. "She contacted him and asked him if he had robbed a bank ... she convinced him that she knew it was him. His picture was all on Facebook. He needed to turn himself in," Wallace said in a follow-up Facebook post that announced Bumpous was in custody and that police had recovered most of the stolen money. Wallace adds that the charges will now go before a grand jury and Bumpous, identified by WCTV as a former EMS worker, "will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law." It's not clear if a wedding is still in the works. (More weird crimes stories.)
