Judge Rejects Musk's Request to Throw Out 'Pedo Guy' Case

A judge has rejected Elon Musk's request to throw out a defamation lawsuit brought by a British cave diver Musk called "pedo guy" after he called the Tesla CEO's offer to use a mini-sub to help rescue 12 trapped boys and their soccer coach in Thailand a "PR stunt." Musk will now face a December trial in federal court in Los Angeles, the Guardian reports. Musk, who also called Vernon Unsworth a "child rapist" and hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on him, has claimed that "pedo guy" is a common insult in South Africa and he didn't mean to insinuate that Unsworth is a pedophile. "We look forward to the trial," a Musk attorney tells Bloomberg. "We understand that, while Musk has apologized, Unsworth would like to milk his 15 minutes of fame." (Before the lawsuit was filed, Musk said it was "strange" that Unsworth hadn't sued him.)
