Stocks are closing slightly lower on Wall Street Monday as traders look for clarity on the status of trade talks between the US and China, the AP reports. Comments from President Trump on Saturday created some uncertainty about how far the US would go in rolling back tariffs as part of a preliminary trade deal. Walgreens Boots Alliance bucked the downward trend, gaining 4.7% after Bloomberg reported that private equity firm KKR wants to buy the drugstore operator. The S&P 500 fell 6 points, or 0.2%, to 3,087. Nine of the 11 sectors in the index were showing losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average eked out a tiny 10-point gain, or 0.04%, to 27,691. The Nasdaq slipped 11 points, or 0.1%, to 8,464. There was no trading in US Treasurys due to the Veterans Day holiday. (More stock market stories.)
