This Is How You Rob a Bank at Christmas
David Wayne Oliver   (Colorado Springs Police Department)

If you're going to rob a bank around Christmas, you might as well resemble Santa, flee your targeted bank tossing wads of cash in the air while screaming "Merry Christmas!," then quietly head to a nearby Starbucks to await the proper authorities. Gentle reader, KKTV brings you the tale of David Wayne Oliver, a 65-year-old who police have charged with robbing the Academy Bank in Colorado Springs, Colo., just after high noon on Monday. Police say Wayne "threatened the use of a weapon," and emerged with an unknown amount of cash.

Says one witness: "He robbed the bank, came out, threw the money all over the place. He started throwing money out of the bag and then said, 'Merry Christmas!'" Bystanders were apparently in the giving-back spirit, however, and picked the cash up and returned it to the bank. Oliver did in fact go to the nearby Starbucks to await cops, who did come to fetch him. He's being held on $10,000 bond. (More weird crimes stories.)
