Arrest Made in Stabbings Over 'Unwanted Advancement'
Michael Mosely.   (Metro Nashville Police Dept.)

Two men killed, four people of interest, and nearly four days without an arrest—until now. Authorities arrested 23-year-old Michael Mosely on Wednesday in the fatal stabbings of two men outside a Nashville bar, including the brother of San Francisco 49ers quarterback CJ Beathard, the Tennessean reports. An array of law enforcement agents had surrounded a vacant Tennessee home until Mosely gave himself up. He's the main suspect in the deaths of Clayton Beathard, 22, and Paul Trapeni, 21, who were stabbed Saturday in a dispute over an "unwanted advancement made by a man toward a woman" at The Dogwood bar, police say.

Mosely allegedly came onto a woman who was with Beathard and Trapeni, then stabbed them both in the ensuing argument; a 21-year-old man was also hospitalized with cuts to his eye and arm, but his condition is unknown, per CNN. (Mosely is said to be one of four people on surveillance video at the bar; police have interviewed two others, but the fourth remains at large.) Mosely's rap sheet includes aggravated assault, drug-related arrests, and attempted aggravated burglary. He has served time, and was out on $5,000 bond after allegedly assaulting a woman at a Nashville Walmart in 2018. Asked why he wasn't jailed, a police rep said the police department "is not in charge of sentencing" and added that "we sympathize with the community's frustration." (More murder stories.)
