(Erik Trautmann/Hearst Connecticut Media via AP, Pool) A Connecticut man accused of murdering his wife has attempted suicide, reports CNN. Fotis Dulos was "en route to the hospital with a faint pulse," his attorney said in the immediate aftermath of the incident. Authorities conducted a welfare check at Dulos' home after he did not show up for a court hearing. Dulos, 52, is accused of killing estranged wife Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five whose body has not been found. He is currently free on $6 million bond but was due in court Tuesday because questions were raised about whether the insurance company backing that bond would continue to do so, reports the Hartford Courant. Dulos was initially reported to have died by the AP and other outlets; the AP has since withdrawn its original story. NBC Connecticut reports police found Dulos in his garage, inside a vehicle, in medical distress due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The Courant's source said that by early afternoon he remained unconscious and was on life support, not breathing on his own. Sources also say Dulos had just learned authorities were planning to revoke his bond, which was secured by significantly overvalued real estate. (More Fotis Dulos stories.) Report an error
