Amy Klobuchar earned positive reviews for her debate performance Friday night, and she appears to be reaping the rewards. She's drawing her biggest crowds yet, she pulled in $3 million in donations in 48 hours after the debate, and, perhaps most significantly, she has risen to third place in polls, reports the Daily Beast. "We've gone up to No. 3!" she told supporters in Nashua, New Hampshire, Sunday. The state primary is Tuesday. A new WBZ/Boston Globe, Suffolk University poll has Klobuchar in third place in New Hampshire at 14%—behind Bernie Sanders (27%) and Pete Buttigieg (19%), but a few points ahead of Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren, who were nearly tied. An Emerson College survey also has Klobuchar in third with 14%, notes Newsweek.
Klobuchar drew more than 1,100 people at a school gym in Nashua Sunday afternoon, a record turnout for the Minnesota senator, reports Politico. At the rally, she said New Hampshire and other early states would give her momentum in later swing states in the Midwest. "We are going to build a beautiful blue wall of votes around these states, and make Donald Trump pay for it," she said. At CNN, Chris Cillizza looks back at Klobuchar's closing statement in the debate (he has the text) and thinks it was pitch-perfect. She still has a "very tough road to the nomination," but "if you were searching for an encapsulation of the opposite of Trumpism, Klobuchar did it better than any Democrat I have yet seen," he writes.
